Anchor Las is sold here in the US by people like Security Snobs. They sell it without a lock, though, so you buy, say, the Anchor Las 580-5 and then a cylinder, for instance, by Abloy. OK, why would Anchor Las not make its own proprietary cylinders for its good padlocks?
I contacted Mul-T-lock asking for a low-guard 18E, they don’t make it. I know of no other more massive shackle(18mm diameter) on a padlock. (Anchor Las 580-5 is 15mm. The S&G 0881 environmental I think is also 15mm). I am starting a collection of strictly classic, open shackle padlocks, no shrouded ones.
Can anyone make an open-shackle CEN grade 6?
Seems to me you know everything about high-security padlocks, given your incredible collection. How would you compare an Anchor Las 580-5 with an Abloy 358, in terms of quality, strength, reliability, durability?
Would you sell an Anchor Las?
